How to Earn More and Work Less - Part 1

Working from home with your own business gives you more flexibility and you don't have to commute to work each day in long hours of traffic.

But there is a dark side to it.......

In the online business world there are plenty of gurus saying things like "having an online business will give you more freedom".

The problem is that when you do service based work, you are basically trading time for money.

The reality is that when you first start out, you will be far from having free time.

In the beginning, you need to take on a good amount of clients to make a decent income for yourself.

This often requires working long hours on the computer.

There will be some days when you don't even leave your house to see daylight because you have been working 10 or 12 hours doing client work.

I am here to tell you that I actually fell into this trap as a freelancer and I got to the point where I just gave up and I got an office job because I was so burnt out. Yes... really!

Earn More and Work Less With Outsourcing

The key to avoiding this trap is one simple thing: outsource.

If a client hires you to do a certain task, just find a Virtual Assistant who can help you get it done.

You can use that extra time for find more clients and grow your online business.

I recommend that if you truly want to earn more money as a freelancer, or offer any type of service from the comfort of your home, you need to scale your business and grow a team subcontractors and not work alone.

There are so many VAs and freelancers out there who don't want to chase down clients and just want to know what they have to do and just work on it.

They need you to be a leader and give them steady client work.

Its hard for one person to find clients, do the actual work, handle billing, finances and everything else it takes to run a business.

Work Smarter Not Harder

When you are working with a team, it will be easier to add on more clients.

You can also delegate more to free up your time. This extra time can be spent blogging, promoting your business on social media, networking with potential clients, building your email list and supporting your team. 

Plus, wasn't the whole idea of you working from home was so that you can reach your true goals:  financial freedom?

See, when you have financial freedom you can take time off when you want, travel, spend quality time with your loved ones and volunteer for causes that matter to you.

You won't be able to achieve that goal until you work smarter and not harder.

This requires some good management skills.
