How to Add Social Media Management to Your VA Business

Offering social media management services can help you grow your Virtual Assistant business very quickly.

It helped me grow my online business to the point where I had a team of 5 people working for me.

I was able to run my business basically on auto-pilot since my social media team helped me manage the client work.

Why Offer Social Media Management Services?

Online business owners really care about promoting their business and will pay anyone who can do this for them.

Managing multiple social media accounts is a time consuming endeavor and that’s why business owners hire Virtual Assistants to do this job for them.

You can really take advantage of this opportunity by offering social media management packages instead of charging by the hour.

Flat Fee Packages Are Better

When you establish a monthly flat fee package, you and your client always know what to expect each month.

This also gives you predictable income.

Listing out exactly what you will deliver to your clients each month can really save you a lot of time because you can plan out your tasks.

Using this system will allow you to take on more clients with ease.

Example of a Monthly SMM Package

Here is an example of social media monthly package to start out. (This is just a sample price, you can even charge much higher than this once you have a good portfolio of past client work).

$500 Monthly SMM Package Includes:

  • 3 Twitter posts per week

  • 8 Facebook posts per month

  • 8 Linkedin posts per month

The good news is that if you use social media scheduling tools like Hootsuite or Buffer, you only have to spend 1 to 2 hours a month scheduling all the posts up front.

You're basically not doing much work.

Find More Clients and Make More Money

Once you get 4 clients at this price, that’s $1,000 per month where you only spend 4-6 hours working on it.

At this point you can take on even more clients.

You can charge much higher as you add more posts and more social media accounts to manage for each package.

Some social media managers charge as high as $1,200 per month (and even higher than that).

How Do I Manage Each Social Media Account?

Here are a few online tools that let you schedule social media posts in advance. Some of these tools offer a free plan and other are paid.

  • HootSuite

  • Buffer

  • MeetEdgar

  • Post Planner

  • Socedo

  • Sprout Social

In addition to posting on social media, you will need to also engage with followers, post interesting topics, create graphic images to post and help your clients grow their followers.

As you offer more services, you can charge them more. The example I gave you earlier is a very basic package.

You can add more services or less at that price point.

Starting out offering social media management services will set you apart from other Virtual Assistants who don't know how to do this properly.

And since there are so many social media networks, most business owners just don't have the time to do this and would rather outsource this.

That’s where your business comes in.

When you list out exactly what each client will get each month, it helps you manage expectations with your client and if they ask you to do something outside of the package, you simple charge them an additional fee.

This could be an hourly rate or you can offer a package of certain hours each month.

There is a lot more to social media management than what I explained above.
